Comments: Comments provided by Russ:  This is a picture of George Harrison after winning the 1st feature on a twin card show at Alcyon Speedway on September 5, 1958. NASCAR official Bob Hill shakes his hand as Dick Sapp looks on. The copper colored Sussex Studebaker X was always a good competitor at Alcyon. This was George's only feature win at Alcyon. Later they switched to the '53 "Bullet Baker" style body which was lower and stream lined. This is a Bob Sweeten Photo. Thanks, Russ Dodge

03.30.09 Bill Lawson George H. Harrison, age 81, of Long Neck, formerly of Georgetown, passed away Monday March 23, 2009 at the Renaissance Health Care Center in Long Neck, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 21, 1927 in Winston Salem, NC to the late William and Hilda Harrison. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was eventually stationed in Cape May, NJ. After the Navy George settled in Georgetown, DE.

George's passion was stock cars and airplanes. He held a private pilots license and was an avid race car fan and driver at racetracks in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Florida.
