Comments:	(Comments from Russ Dodge:) This is Lew Mood from Mullica Hill, N.J. in his sportsman at Alcyon Speedway in 1956. Lew, starting there in the late 40's raced thru the 50's, taking the NASCAR sportsman track championship in 1957. Most people don't know that Lew started out in the open wheel sprint cars, and for trivia buffs, was the first winner ever of a URC sprint feature event in Lockport, N.Y.. Lew has been mentioned in comments as the man who took care of the Maul Brother's # 111. Lew was known for building carburetors and being a good mechanic. Of interest is that he did not build the motors for his cars He told me they were build by Joe Wolf, well known hydro plane/ race car motor builder, in Reading, Pa. Lew taught Joe, to build carburetors which established the connections. Joe Wolf motors were known for their power with wins on the beach at Daytona. This is a Walter Chernokal photo. 05/29/03	Jim Murrow	Maybe Russ Dodge, or Ed Duncan or someone can help with this question. Maybe it's another Wolf, but I think I remember Paul Deasey, and Joe Wolf being the guys who fielded the original 707. I sorta remember the name "Wolf" or "Wolfe" being painted on the car somewhere, along with "Deasey", and "the BIG DONKEY".
05/31/03	Russ Dodge	There is no connection between the two. A lot of people thought they were the same. Joe Wolf operated his Hollywood Speed Shop in Reading Pa. He was known more for building hydro-plane motors. I believe the Wolfe on the roof of the "Big Donkey" referred to a gentleman named Charles Wolfe. I hope someone else can provide info on him. I talked with Paul Deasey last year at Bedford. He was fielding a # 707 Ford powered sprint car.
