Comments: Comment from Will Rose:  This is a picture of Reds Fowler in the # 141 car that was owned by Nick Rose from Baltimore, Maryland.  This is the same # 141 car that Reds Kagle had most of his success in.  Ed Lindsay also had good success in this car.  Reds Fowler was from Washington, DC. and he drove the # 141 car for Nick Rose, from late 1951 intill his fatal accident at the Marlboro Raceway in Maryland.   On November 1, 1953, Reds was running a late model race when the right rear wheel came off of the green # 13 Hudson Hornet that he was driving. The car started to roll over several times and on that November day the racing world lost a great driver and friend.

07/04/03 Todd J Where (specifically) was the Marlboro Raceway located?
07/05/03 Larry Jendras Marlboro Motor Raceway was located on RT 301 just south of Upper Marlboro, Md. The remains of the track and grandstands can still be seen from the highway. It gained national attention for the sports car races held on its road course, but the 1/3 mile oval track produced many fine drivers such as Elmo Langley, Glenn Guthrie, Bill Morgan, Reds Kagle, Wes Morgan, Hoss Kagle and a driver whose career was cut short by a 1953 fatal crash, the above pictured Reds Fowler.
01/26/06 Steve Knoll I've done a rather large update on my website www.laprecord.com <http://www.laprecord.com/> about the history of Marlboro Raceway, which was my home track in the mid-late 60's
02/02/07 Bill Lansinger Marlboro speedway was (Col.) AL JACKSON. He drove a really neat 1941 Ford
coupe (#99 as I remember). He and I were in the NORTHERN VIRGINIA STOCK CAR CLUB
when I knew him.

You can get more info on him (and others) if you search on the GOOGLE
Archives < http://news.google.com/archivesearch >.

I enjoyed looking at your site.
