I'm told that this is Henry Doerr on his side... |

If it is Henry Doerr on his side in the 32, this could
be 1956 at Vineland. The flying zero picture was light yellow and red and ran out of
Stanley Morgan's Auto Body on Mill Rd. in Vineland. The driver could have been Chris
Dawson or Andy Gump (Andy Sarcletti) Thanks, Russ Dodge |

This accident was reported in the newspaper as the
third of three accidents in the second heat race at Vineland Speedway 10/2/55. Chris
Dawson in the Flying Zero had just been sandwiched by Larry Voss in the M-1 and Ed Forte
in the 32 which caused the 32 to turn over. A few minutes earlier in that same race, the
32 reportedly turned completely over but continued to race after landing right side up in
the second accident of that event. Both the newspaper account and the caption under the
picture reported Ed Forte as the driver of the 32. Research shows that Henry Doerr had
driven the 32 to a second place finish on 7/1/55, and that he continued to drive the car
for the next two months. Ed Forte started driving the 32 on 9/5/55. Thanks, Bill Skinner. |

How many people know who Ed Forte's brother was? |

Sorry, Steve... I just noticed your
question at the bottom of the page. Better late than never - I believe Ed
Forte's brother was, (and probably still is), "Fabian" |
