Comment from Kevin Mc: This photo was
taken sometime in the 1950's on Richardson Drive in Hightstown. this is
pretty much where Rt.33 and the NJ Turnpike intersect. Charlie Ugi raced at
Wall Stadium. I don't know if he raced elsewhere but I thought this picture
is ideal for the 1950s Vault If any of the Oldtimers on 3 Wides remember a service station that once sat at the corner of Monmouth St and Rt 33 (just East of Mom's Peppermill, on the same side of Rt. 33) many years ago, that was Charlie's station until the State of NJ decided they wanted his land. |
