Comments: | Comment from Jim Silvius: Here is a good historical one. When my Dad was 15yrs.old he took a few snap shots of the cars being towed in at Nazareth. Some of them did not survive but a few did and here is one of them. This is Mario & his brother Aldo Andretti's first car that they would take turns driving. It is a 1948 Hudson Hornet. On Mario's web site in the photo & racing gallery section the first picture is of this car in front of their garage with them kneeling in front of it. |

02.05.12 | Jack Reinhard | This picture is quite a surprise to see. I had always heard that the Andretti's started out in a Hudson but I had always assumed that it was a prewar Hudson coupe with a 308 6 cylinder not a postwar step down car. What was the class they ran in? |
02.05.12 | Jack Kromer | Wow, that is cool. Thanks for posting these old Nazareth pictures. This is only the second picture that I've ever seen of that Andretti car. |
02.11.12 | Joe Cryan | I think what make's this photo so neat is, that what the name Andretti became later in years. The name Andretti is known by most any one interested in racing. Like Jack Kromer said there have not been many photo's of this car shown before. I know I saw this car race, because in 1959 i was 10 years old. And I would have been at Nazareth, but it's been too many years ago now to remember. Thanks again for posting such great photo's. |
