Comments: Here Dick Williams trys to get it done the hard way as he enters the corner minus his left front wheel!  Maybe you guys can help with the #1 and the #11.

I had an opportunity to talk with Dick and his son Pat on a recent visit to New Egypt Speedway.  Pat drove the back up Jack Swain #42 in last year's rookie crop and continues to be involved with the team.

05/17/04 Ed Duncan The tracks not Old Bridge,it looks more like Morristown.  I am not sure who is in the 1 an the 11.  Great pic,  Ed
05/17/04 3-Wide Thanks for the info Ed.
05/19/04 Tom Berry I think that's Johnny Rocco in the number 1 but Johnny Zeke also drove a similar #1.
10/18/04 DWil48263 #63 Dick Williams, #1 Al Deangelo, #11 Bill Tanner - The track  is Morristown.
08/08/06 Tina Zeke Connolly I just spoke to my father, Johnny Zeke, who just received the photo. He definitely confirmed that is he driving the # 1. This was in the spring of 1952. He went on to win three succeeding features at Morristown at that time. Trunz Meats was his sponsor and that is on the side of the #1.

He said the track is definitely Morristown, because the cars have shaker screens, which were used on dirt tracks. Also, he recognized his helmet as a Cromwell helmet with brown leather. The other drivers had white leather. Additionally, he never drove the #1 at Old Bridge. He only drove the X3 at Old Bridge, not the #1.

He enjoyed commenting on this. He is 85 now and doing very well.
08/09/06 3-Wide Let him know that we appreciate the first hand information for the Vault!
