| 12/19/06 | Ken Johnson | This is just one of the Sock Valeriano's cars. There was a 6Jr also and
that was driven by Russ Delp, Shorty Kershner and Wally Whitman. There was also a 16Jr and
that was driven by Bobby Blatt and Larry Valeriano. These were all flathead cars. At the time this was taken, Sock had a 6Jr Modified and I think in 1959 Russ Delp won the Middletown Championship. Kenny Wismer also drove the Modified. When Reading went Modified, many drivers drove the Mushroom car. I think the Photographer for these type of shots is Bill Ader of the Reading Eagle / Times. Larry Jendras owns the collection now. |
