Comments: Comments provided by Jim Brewer:  I have attached another Harry McCaughey photo from the 1966 Reading Fair. It is Bob Rossell's #36. Again, I am not sure how he finished on this night but Bob finished in the Top Ten on six nights in 1966 with his best finish a 2nd in the July 15 feature. Bob never won a Reading feature but he got real close at least once. Bob was a real racer and a lot of fun to watch. As you can see from the front iron on the #36, Reading racing was a contact sport.

11/01/03 David Rockhill I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE WORKED SOME ON THIS CAR AND TRAVEL WITH BOB IN 1966.  YOU'RE RIGHT, THIS CAR NEVER WON AT READING, BUT THE RECORDS WILL SHOW IT WON AT NAZARETH AND AT MIDDLETOWN SEVERAL TIMES THAT YEAR.
03/05/05 Pete Was this car garaged in Woodbridge N.J. in the mid 60's ?  Thanks, Pete
03/05/05 3-Wide I don't think so Pete as Bob is from the Wrightstown, NJ area and I'm pretty sure that's where the car could be found.
06/10/06 Rob Gale I'm not sure of the exact dates but sometime in the 1961 season at Flemington Speedway on the old four cornered dirt track, Bob Rossel went over the wall between the third and fourth turns while racing 3 abreast, smacked a phone pole, and totalled the car.

The following week, Bob showed up with a brand new car that hadn't even been painted yet. Same thing ... same place! While racing three abreat coming off turn three and down the short chute to turn four, Rossell on the outside, went over the wall, smacked the same pole but next week showed up with the same car, now fully painted.

Bob Rossell was my idea of a true 'guts and glory' race car driver!
