Comments: Comment provided by John Fahey:  This is a picture that I took in 1966 at the Harmony Speedway. The 45x was driven by Clarence Williamson and it flipped coming out of Turn #4. Security was not as tight as it should have been and I was able to sneak past the security guard, walk on the Drag Strip, and snap the picture. The 45x was a regular competitor at Flemington in those days, and the driver was quite a colorful character. I seem to remember that he was fine.

07/01/03 3-Wide As you guys know, I usually don't post crash pictures, but John seems to think that Clarence was A-OK after this one and returned to race another day...
01/09/09 Ken Stull You may find this hard to believe but the young fellow with the boots and the # 00 shirt walking to the car is none other than Bobby Stull , flagger /announcer . Bobby and Clarence were good friends back in the 60 's & 70 's .

The driver of the 45-X was my Father. He had many "results" like this in a race. He only ever had 1 serious injury, when he flipped down the back stretch at Flemington and was knocked unconscious. I have his helmet that he wore, and marvel that he was never seriously injured. Sadly, Dad passed away in 2001, but he left me with some wonderful stories. I'm new to this, but if anyone has any pictures of him, I would love to figure a way to get copies. Thank you so much for putting his pic up.
