Comments: | What we're pretty sure of is that's Will Cagle peeking out behind yet another checkered flag. What we're not sure about is that exhaust pipe.... If that is the exhaust, this could be one of the first sighting of the old "Expansion Chamber Back Pressure Forced Flux Capacitor" which has since been refined and can now be found on Big Ron's Pro Stock Late Model! I don't think that one has a part # guys.... |

06/15/03 | Ned Stites III | I believe this was after a feature win at the Harmony Speedway. Will had a beautiful car, but he flipped and the exhaust pipes were altered afterward. I saw this car when it was new and it remains one of my favorite cars. It was maintained at Lucky Jordan's garage. |
06/15/03 | Russ Dodge | When Will Cagle first came North in 1959, he hooked up with Lucky Jordan. This exhaust set up was used as early as 1961 by Lucky, appearing on his "winged" coupe. If I am not mistaken, he flipped the Chevy exhaust manifold headers and aimed them up bringing the pipes out as they appear on this later Cagle car. Thanks, Russ Dodge |
06/15/03 | Jim Young | Cagle ran most of the time in Ny & Pa., but would often load up and head to N.J. This photo was most likely taken at East Windsor. New Jersey law said that the exhaust had to run back past the cowl. Cagle's solution was a lot of flexible exhaust pipe............Jim Young |
07/02/03 | Jim Murrow | By the way, Expansion Chamber Back Pressure Forced Flux Capacitors are available from Rube Goldberg Speed Supply (part # ICIM-2-fast-4U). |
01/25/04 | Carl Suk | I believe too this might be at East Windsor the other
