Photo ID # 07.06.03_009_FAR_UNK_0060_1
Car #: #9
Driver (s) : Les Farley (see visitor comments below)
Location: Nazareth, PA
Date: 1960's
Photographer: Gary Yeager and Gary Phillips?
Photo provided by: Ricky Rutt
Comments: Beautiful coupe with a lot of tradition.  I'm pretty sure this is the same team that later fielded the pink #9 Gremlin that Gary Balough drove in the mid 70's when first arriving from the south.

07/06/03 John Mc This is Ed Farley, not Les. I'd say it's gotta be Nazareth, too.
07/07/03 Rick Lugg This is Ed Farley. I have an old picture from the Del Val News saying he was the points leader.
07/07/03 3-Wide Does anyone know when the big track opened in Nazareth, because if it wasn't until after 1970, I may have to move this picture to the 70's section...
07/07/03 John Mc The big track opened in the 60’s but it doesn't matter, 'cause this is the 1/2 mile....JMc
08/03/03 Linda On page 13 in the 60's you have  the number 9 that says Les Farley.  It is not him.   It is Ed Farley.  I know Ed - He is my family member and I talked to him myself.  Thank you
10/14/03 L Talbert ED Farley won the 1968 naz opener in the #9.
09/03/04 Scott Miller I think there were 2 of these same pink or purple cars at Nazareth. If I remember correctly Bobby Botcher drove one of them.
03.11.17 Dirtmod#9 Driver Change; The Driver of the 9 is this photo is not Ed Farley. Ed drove the car in 1968 when it had a black roof the entire season, see the "Forever Young", Nazareth page. The white roof means its 1969-70 with Bobby Bottcher in the seat.

I don’t think that this is the Nazareth half mile. I’m going to say it’s definitely the big track. For those who questioned in the comments above what years the big track (Naz National) was around—that was from 1966 thru 1971. The rust pattern on the wall tells me it’s Nazareth National. That little black square on the wall leads me to believe that it’s Naz National. I’m pretty sure and I could always be wrong, but I think the big track had a small hole in it’s wall there for timing lights and that is that dark square that you see in this picture. The half mile’s wall didn’t have that hole.
