Provider's comments: | Jackie Moshera in the #S1. A great driver from the New Egypt area that lost his life in a traffic accident way before his time. I remember him as a very good racer from the late 60's at EWS. |

12/26/03 | Wayne Urffer | Augie Moschera raced sportsman at Nazareth in the 60s, took about four years off in the 70s and then came back, without much success. I think my memory is right--Augie in a coupe #14. Were Augie and Jackie related? |
08/22/06 | Scott Ely | Wayne- I believe you may be mistaken about Augie Moshera running sportsman in the 60s. Augie, who is Jackie's father, was a top modified runner in NJ back in the 50s. He did run into the 60s at Old Bridge, Vineland and Wall. Augie's brother, Jimmy Moshera, was also a modified runner in the 50s. Jimmy ran a dark blue coupe # 95. I recall it being called the Stardust Special. Jackie bought his first stock car from Stubby Stevens, a fellow New Egypt area driver who raced against his dad and uncle. The car was a blue and white 37 Ford with a flathead motor. Jackie didn't change a thing on that car, including the paint and number. Every car after that coupe was blue and white with the number S-1. Scott Ely |
