03.07.10 Ed Duncan Sammy drove that car at Stafford Springs when it was dirt that year.
08.06.10 Don Perry This picture s awesome! I remember like yesterday the Hilborn injectors, the 10% motor setback, the flex pipe sidepipes, and this car had a quick change rearend. Paul Poppaduke owned the car, Beavers drove it. Paul was a Raritan police officer and worked out of the Flying A station at Hwy 202 and First Avenue in Raritan. My twin brother John and I live about a half mile from the station on 202 and helped paint the trunk area on this car! We would grab our bikes and haul over there whenever they started the car up (what a beautiful sound a 327 with straight pipes would make!). We were, with the grace of Paul, shop rats.

As memory serves, the 77A was painted white with blue trim and a classy graphic on thenumbers, like they were flying.  I remember one summer evening (maybe 2:00am?) the 77A, from the 202 traffic light, up the hill towards Flemington, racing the Raritan Rambler 4 door sedan police cruiser.

We move to Hawaii in 1966 and so lost track of the whole deal in Flemington. I sat next to Patty Poppaduke in 8th grade in Mr Kunkle's English class.  I made her laugh
with puns on spelling test days. I'm not sure if she is related to Paul, Not sure if related but back then I tended to mix my fantasies! (and never did learn to
spell!)
I would love to see (buy?) some more pictures of this car.
