10.02.10 | Gary LaFetra | Take a look at the grandstands - Not many empty seats. A
sign of the better days at Wall Stadium and short track racing in general. These pictures are our only link to those bygone days as a lot of the people that were involved back then are no longer with us. Many thanks to Chip Graves. |
10.02.10 | Craig Pondish | They called the Lincoln engines MEL although they were
basically Ford FE design. Stood for Mercury Edsel Lincoln. They had 383,
410, 430 & 462 before they switched, in 1968, to the 385 series that we run
now. In the late 50's they had a factory 430 tripower with 400hp that they
called the Super Marauder. Elliott is from around Toms River wasn't he? Where is Don Houser from? |
10.03.10 | Gary LaFetra | Tommie Elliott was originally from Toms River, then later moved to Florida and sadly passed away several years ago. Don House is from Metuchen. |
10.03.10 | Kevin Newman | Nice to see racers as fans too!...Chip was fine racer in his own right!...Tommie and Don met up several years later on the Wishnik “Roaring 20”…both retired to Florida…Tommie died in 1989… |
