Comments: Not sure who many times the Tom Skinner owned, Parker Bohn driven #659 raced at East Windsor, but here's a great shot of Parker behind the wheel on the frontstretch with flagger Tex Enright on the track next to him.  The #659 is certainly a car that will never be forgotten by those who were fortunate enough to see it run... wherever that may have been!  (How many of you guys got to see it, and where?)

11.06.11 Gary LaFetra I saw Parker and the 659 belch flames out the back many, many times at Wall Stadium.
11.07.11 Russ Clock I saw the 659 race at Oldbridge, Fort Dix and Islip Speedway.

One night at Islip, Parker was ahead of Axel Anderson every time Parker backed off going into the corners a flame would shoot over the hood of Axel's. After a few laps Axel was pissed an ran into the back of Parker, Parker just moved up and let Axel pass.

He then dropped in behind Axel and as they entered the third turn Axel backed off and Parker kept his foot in it hitting Axel so hard as to lift all 4 wheels off the track and making the back of Axels coupe look like it was hit by a snowplow. Amazingly there wasn't any trouble after the race was over.
11.08.11 Jerry Reinhardt The 659 is alive and well in the south and winning with Danny Bohn aboard.
11.10.11 Charlie Miller I first saw Parker and the #659 at the opening of the Bridgeport Speedway. I had read about this combo in the AARN for many years, and it was a real treat to finally see them in person. They didn't make the race that day as they drew a pretty bad starting spot in their heat race, and the consey. I do remember they held their own in the race, and I went home impressed with them.
11.10.11 3Wide I'm thinking that Bridgeport opened around 1972.  Was Parker still in the coupe Charlie?  They had a #659 Vega after the couple, but I'm pretty sure that the Vega only ran on asphalt.
11.13.11 Bobby Fiorello GREAT SHOT LEE,,I THINK WE WERE ALL IN THE 4 TURN STANDS WAITING TO SEE WHO WAS GOING TO RUN TO BURGER LAND AT INTERMISSION.   WAS IT LEGS,,,
11.13.11 3-Wide Where was Burgerland - Was it in the same building where Tut's Hut was on the corner of Airport and Rt 33?
11.14.11 Mark Yaple Yes, Burgerland was at the corner of Airport Road. I can remember Bobby, Legs, Lee, John, Joey, the Katona clan among others spending the season ending Sunday afternoons at East Windsor's 4th turn bleachers. Those times were unforgetable and shots like this bring those memories back one more time.
11.14.11 Charlie Miller Yes Joe it was a coupe, though a newer version . It had just a little less sheet metal, but still had that awesome six cylinder, with that whole hive of bumble bees under the hood.
11.17.11 Russ Dodge One of the "neat treats" of the Pumpkin Run was a chance to hear and see the mighty Tom Skinner 6 cylinder fire up. Thanks to Charles Santilli for bringing the car to the show at Fleming's each year. It truly is a "legendary" part of racing history.
