Comments: | Pretty sure that this was the XL-1 renumbered to the #11 for the event since I don't think 3 digits were allowed on the big track. I don't know if Johnny was injured in the above crash, but I know that his career continued afterward. |

I could be wrong but that gentleman checking out the wrecked XL-1 likes an awful lot like Al Whitehouse. Makes sense considering it looks like he’s looking directly a the 427 Ford motor. He’s probably thinking, “What I couldn’t do with that baby under the hood of my hot rod!” |
