This car was actually a twin. There was another Cope coupe just like this with Cooper's Speed Shop sponsorship over the rear wheel wells. I believe this car was used more for long distance reces. Both of these cars were always among the class of the field in their day. Great photo Freddy. |

Wayne, thanks for clearing up the Cope #1 thing. The more I looked at this picture, the more I thought this car looks slightly different than the one I remember from that first race I attended. I thought it was just me, since it's hard to remember the details of that car. It was bugging me that this car looked slightly older and longer maybe- just different. The Cooper's Speed Shop car was the one I remember from that night. Thanks, it makes sense now. |
