Comments: Comment from Bob:  Attached is a Bob Farley pic taken in 1960 of the Nazareth pits including Bob Wiesimeyer (spelling?), Bob Malzahn, Bill Wark and others I don't recognize.  This was the year I first started going to the races and it was the best time for me because of its character and individualism - see the race cars, tow equipment, work areas, a corn field instead of a car dealership.  Sure there were no fire retardant suits and the cars were more dangerous, but it's still easy to see why a day at the races during this period, was one of the more popular forms of entertainment.  Sure glad I'm old enough to have experienced it first hand.

Thanks for posting this old Nazareth image. Pretty cool. I don’t recall seeing Nazareth pit shots with a corn field next to it.

I believe this is before they put the fence around the pits.  It sure looks like the same pit area in other pictures that included the fence.  Pit entrance was at the beginning of the front stretch, which was the original backstretch before the old fairgrounds grandstands was torn down.  Great photo of a time we all enjoyed the races at Nazareth.

The "cookie-cutter" had obviously not been invented by this time....  This is a great photo of a wonderful era in Modified racing.
