Comment from Mike: This Basking Ridges own Walt Bettler.
I believe the year is 1965 at Middletown in his own modified. Walt was a
good driver. I don't think he ever won a modified main, but one night at
Harmony in 1966 he was passed on the last lap by Frankie Schneider and
finished second. One of my favorite memories was Walt and his crew, Schotzie and Harold coming to my 15th birthday party! In 1968 Walt and my father went URC Sprint Car racing. |
