Comments: Comment from Scott:  The # B-3 was sold by Augie Moschera to Chic Ronan for $200.00 in the winter of 1965. The B-3 was fitted with a stock 312 cu. in. Ford motor, repainted maroon and white, renumbered  35, and hit the track for the first time on May 30, 1966 at East Windsor.

The photo of the 2 racers in the snow was taken in the winter of 1969. The blue and white coupe on the left was purchased by Chic in 1968 to replace the maroon and white coupe on the right.  Shortly after this photo was taken, the "old" 35 was hauled off to Tilghman's Scrap Yard and, unfortunately, "laid to rest".

Chic then built a garage in his backyard in the Spring of 1970 so we could work on his hot rods in luxury and comfort.

06.13.20 Scott Ely Here's Chic's first hot rod and first pickup.  The 37 Ford coupe was bought at New Egypt Speedway about 10 years ago. The  Chevy pickup is metal die cast and was bought at a Rite Aid, also about 10 years ago. I changed out the wheels, tires and motor.  I tried to replicate the 312 Ford that Chic had in the car.  The pickup as shown is a 6 ft bed. The actual pickup was a 8 ft step side that Chic bought from Bobby Rossell.

I originally gave the hot rod, pickup and trailer to Chic.

After he passed in 2012, his daughter Debbie thought it best that I get them back. I'm so glad she did. Whenever I look at the "35", I think of Chic. He was always a middle of the field type of racer but he was a kind, loving, giving man. I miss him.
