08/15/05 | Bill Skinner | I have a picture Taken at Vineland Speedway where the caption reads
"Will Cagle from Tampa, Florida introduces the first wing(ed) stock car, Lucky
Jordan's Deuce 8/25/61", and The Vault has a picture of Cagle driving the winged
deuce at Vineland on Labor Day 9/4/61. After that, Jackie McLaughlin drove the winged deuce at Flemington 9/9 and 9/16 before winning the feature 9/23/61. The wing was apparently removed the next week when Jackie crashed the deuce in the first of two features at Flemington, but the wing was back on the deuce after a one week ban, and Jackie was the driver in the last race of the year at Flemington 10/7/61. It appears the wing was banned for good after that. |

Wow - The winged Jordan deuce. This is one of the coolest car that Jackie McLaughlin every drove. |
