Comments: Comment from Michael: The photo was taken by by a friend of mine Dave Nichols.  It is Johnny Kumernitsky coming out of turn #3 during Sunday action at Nazareth. The car was indeed the original Frankie Schneider's #2 (Ole Betsy).  Frankie would, from time to time, climb in the #63 and make her sing.  I used to go to "Iron John's Auto Body shop in Ironton, PA. from time to time. One night Frankie Schnider was there, talking to his friend John. John was already working on a Ford flatback sedan which he later raced as the #63.  (This was after he had sold him the #2 "Betsy".)

I lived at the track from 1962, until the draft got me in 1966.  I enjoy the web site.
Thanks: Michael Golden..Allentown, PA.

10/03/07 Thomas Hoy This car is not Frankies "old bess". John built a square tube roll cage car in 64 known as bertha to us. That car was destroyed by Monk Bauer at Naz National. There was a second square tube roll cage car built in 66. This was known as junior. No rehab work on that car has been done in the last year. Been too busy getting Johns 14 year old grandson a second in points at Borgers speedway and 9th in points at Kutztown in a 270cc micro sprint.
02/18/08 Michael Golden I wish to apologize for the misinformation i posted as to john's #63 car last year. i should have verified the source first. after talking to butch and neal kumernitsky, they in fact did build the original coupe themselves. this is a very factual and worth while site and i am sorry for getting it wrong. i was away at war during that time and only knew second hand about "back Home".
