| 06/20/08 | Jack Reinhard | That looks like one of Ed Ackermans cars from Long Island. He had 2 cars- #1 and #2 which had the best of everything for the period. The number and crossed flags make me think it could be one of his cars. Al DeAngelo ran his #1 at Langhorne in 1964 so the cars weren't asphalt only. The O'Rourke's Kosher Deli may be a needle at Bob O'Rourke who had a steak house on LI and as I recall was pals with Ed. I believe Gil Hearne may have been involved with Ackerman and could be at the wheel, anyone in touch with Gil??? |
