Comments: | Some guys are different for the sake of being different. Some guys are different because they're always looking to find a better way to do things which leads to success. I can remember Dave and a purple #7ll from back in the late 60's - and he was different and successful! Looking at this, it's pretty obvious that using a Pacer body was a little non-conventional, but with Dave, I bet the real genius was hidden under the sheet metal. (Is that Lou Lazzaro's #4 next to the 711...) |

01/03/03 | Bob Scott | This is NOT READING its Flemington 78.... I should know I took the picture! Bob Scott |
01/03/03 | Scott Pacich | The picture of Kneisel that I sent you of the Pacer at Flemington was taken by Bob Scott. |
01/03/03 | Dave S | I think this was a neat looking car... it was different! I know where there's a Pacer sitting out in a field...Kneisel only has one "l" by the way! ... and the picture is at Flemington also. Didn't he used to always have his dog with him? Dave |
01/03/03 | 3-Wide | Hey Dave, what is this, a freakin spelling bee? - Just kidding - It get's pretty frantic trying to keep up with all this stuff and I am very appreciative of you guys keeping me honest! Don't let Scott know which field that Pacer's in or your liable to see it on the Vintage circuit next year! |
01/14/03 | Bill Hanna | Yeah that is Kneisel's famous Pacer # 711 at Flemington probably for a Northeast Dirt Track Championship 200 as a "guaranteed starter" from Five Mile Point with the "Monk" Lou Lazzaro alongside representing either Fonda or Rolling Wheels. Sadly, Dave lost his life over the Labor Day weekend one year at Middletown when his throttle stuck. I believe it was the same weekend that RIchie Evans lost his life at Martinsville, VA. I will always think of Dave and his Speed Shop everytime I head for Syracuse on I-81 and pass Clarks Summit PA. |
01/19/03 | Louie Lazzaro | Yes, that is my dad next to Dave (Louie provided a link that has some info about his father Lou Lazzaro.)http://community.webtv.net/Lazzaro/LouiesHomepagefor |
03/11/03 | Scott | Just wanted to add an update here. I found the guy who has the Pacer. He's going to restore it.....Scott. |
04/26/04 | Stan | I know where the PACER is let's go get it Scott!! |
12/11/06 | Chad | Dave always had his dog Andy by his side at home, the shop or the track. |
05.04.09 | Walt Kowalski | That is Louie in the Putman Trucking 4.Looking at the 4,I think it's the weaker of the 2 cars that year. The other car had a BOLD type #4. |
03.28.13 | Pete Lazzaro |
The 4 is the car that won the eastern states 200 that year. This pic must be early summer because the car looked like hell by October. Kneisel and Lazzaro both had dogs. We used to park next to him at Weedsport every Sunday. |
