Comments: (From Mike) | Kenny Brightbill 1975 at Reading. Kenny kept the radical seating in this car like he had in years past. Another of the patriotic painted cars of the 1975-76 season. |

02/08/03 | Dave Walter | In this year their were 2 Brightbill Pinto's with opposite paint schemes. The one was blue on left side which is shown in this picture and the other was red on the left side. Not sure but believe the red Pinto was driven once by Larry Dickson a USAC driver. He flipped the car, I believe coming out of the 4th turn at the Reading Fairgrounds. If I am wrong, correct me. Great photos keep them coming |
02/11/03 | Bill Hanna | In regards to Dave's comment about Brightbill's car. Larry Dickson did drive Kenny's back-up car but it was in 1974 and he did flip the car on April 21 in turn 4 when the front spindle broke. In 1974, the cars did not sport the patriotic splashes of red and blue. (By the way Larry Dicksons' career modified record at Reading was 2 top 5's and 5 top 10's with a personal best of 4th. I believe most of his success came as a teammate of Dick "Toby" Tobias and not in the Brightbill # 19) Bill Hanna Easton PA |
05/13/03 | steve fegley | 75 was the only year the donkey was painted this way, this car was later sold to johnny kozak, an numbered 31, which john did win a fifty lapper at reading in it later , i think was jackie evans mem. |
05/13/03 | 3-Wide | All the years and I never realized that Kozak's #31 was the old #19! Thanks for the insight.... |
07/11/04 | TanksGT668 | John ran this same Pinto to numerous wins at Reading
and US 13. I was on his crew through the great 2nd place finish at Hagertown's Octoberfest
in 89 to Frank Cozze. By the way, the car is still around today, John sold it to Chris
Reed (#29 sportsman at Reading) who still has the car behind his garage. Another intersting fact, Kozak's mustang was his coach, which was Brightbill's last coach. |
