| 01/25/04 | John Reuter. | I remember this car being dominate to the point there was a bounty put on it.I also heard stories of the car running on nitrous. More then a few people swore they saw him hand pumping nitrous into it on the front and back stretches at EWS. |
| 01.15.11 | Robert L. Stevens | I read John Reuter's comment concerning rumors of Ed running nitrous oxide in the Z8. I helped Ed with the car from 1973 to 1976. And yes he did experiment with nitrous using the high pressure fire extinguisher in the cockpit. |
| 01.15.11 | 3Wide | I spoke to Ed a while back and he did say that he "experimented" with Nitrous at East Windsor, but that he said he never got it just right... He said that it would come on strong at the end of the straight, but it would mess up his corner entry. He also told me about the time he was in the staging lanes in the pits and the pit official came over to him and made him "push the button"... If I remember, it caused a big bang under the hood! |
