Comments: | PIGMY POWER! Check out the little guy riding shotgun over the right rear tire on this early Jimmy Horton effort. I'm told that Jimmy got that nickname from John Burnett, who stopped by the Horton garage when Jimmy was a youngster, ear deep in grease, working on a racecar... (I'll give you a minute to get the visual... covered with grease, big head of hair...) |

02/24/03 | PhotoNutt | Not sure but, I think Jim Sr. still uses that single axle trailer! LOL. |
02/24/03 | 3-Wide | Last time I checked, they still weren't paying for where the trailer finishes! A big thrill for me when I was a kid was to run to the pits as soon as they opened the gates at the end of the night to try to help Al Michalchuk put the skinny front tires on the #292 so that the car would fit on the trailer! |
12/06/03 | Walt Pickell | I can remember every Saturday on our way to Flemington driving past Horton's house to see and hear him working on his gremlin, although he was not a Flemington regular. |
