Comments: Dave apolygized for the poor quality of this picture, but he should know better!  Although there are many photos in the Vault that demonstrate the talents of many of the areas best photographers, the Vault is really about the memories that each picture brings out.   For example, I remember Lee McBride as being a very successful sportsman racer at East Windsor and remember him in a #90 and also in a Pinto bodied #11 that was painted like the sedan above.  I think the car was keep near where the old Trenton Mack location was where business Route 1 splits off from Highway 1 in Lawrenceville, NJ.   It wasn't until Dave sent this picture in response to a visitor's comment that I remembered this cool looking sedan!  Thanks Dave for preserving another memory...

04/20/03 Dave Spurlin It may not be the best quality but here's a picture of Lee McBride in October of 1974 at Flemington. Didn't he used to drive a yellow #11 before this? I remember a sedan one time that went pretty well and all of a sudden it made some really horrendous noises coming down the front stretch then the rear end jumped up and there laid the transmission complete with the shifter still on it laying in the center of the track! I was just starting to be a fan then so I wasn't sure who it was but always figured it was him. Does anyone else remember that? I'd never seen anything like it
04/20/03 3-Wide Hey Dave, sounds like the episode of the "Monsters" called "Hot Rod Herman" where the the show ends with the complete engine dropping out from underneath after Herman wins back the daily driver, {thanks to Grandpa and his Coffin Car), after losing it earlier to a rival kid's father in a drag racing match.  You guys are laughing but I'll bet I'm not the only psycho out there that remembers this episode!!!
04/21/03 Walter Onora Yes, I rememeber that episode. Lee McBride did lose the whole transmission at Flemington, along with the shifter!! Must have happened in the early 70's.
04/21/03 Jeff McClung And after Lee was done with this coach body, Chuck Mason obtained it from him and ran a few more years with it.
04/21/03 Kevin Budden Nothing but fond memories of Lee in the sedan. I have an 8x10 color glossy of Lee driving the yellow # 11 37" chevy coupe that the late Bob Reid owned, Bob was a great guy. I remember sitting in the stands around 1970 with my Dad and Bob, my Dad went to get us some refreshments Bob asked me if I wanted a sip of his beer, I said Im only 9, he said I won't tell if you don't. My Dad never found out. Good memories always at the (DIRT) 1/2 mile of East Windsor speedway! Is there a way I can send you a copy of this picture, thanks again.
07/20/03 JEFF To whom it may concern, I have been looking for a site such as yours for quite a while now. I am glad I found your site. My name is Jeff and my father is the late LEE Mcbride, driver of the # 11. He raced at many tracks ,but East Windsor and Flemington are the favorite tracks. If anybody has any questions or needs pictures , I'm sure I can probably help them. Thanks for your time. JEFF
