11/30/02 | Doug | Any idea who was driving the Statewide Car in the background? |
11/30/02 | 3 Wide | I think it was Lee Taylor, or Larry Taylor, or Billy Osmun...Hopefully someone else that was involved with the team back then could be more specific... |
12/24/03 | Dave | Billy Osmun drove that #3. Dave |
03/22/03 | Todd L | Too young to really recall Howie in this ride but I do remember him driving for Benny Scheer in the A&B Garage 1a. The last I had heard Howie was in NC working for ARCA hotshoe and former dirt racer Andy Belmont but that has been about 4 years ago. I wonder if Howie is still in NC |
12/14/03 | Fred Voorhees | Any questions as to why they called him "Howie The Hat"? |
04/09/04 | Bucky Stevens | This picture is about 1975. Howie built this car from scratch with some close friends. He operated out of his dad's house and on a very slim budget. The car has headers with collectors, a real racing strearing set-up which is how I date it. Those parts were purchased with winnings. |
06/29/05 | lugnut | Howie also used to drive a Pontiac Gran Prix that had Mr. Dirt on the side windows.Last i heard from him, in mid 90's he was living in Florida. |
