Comments: This is what the sport was and should still be about...  A group of guys, some family, some friends and one brave enough to climb into the result of all of their week's work to see if on maybe this night, they will have what it takes to do better than the other teams, and at the end of the evening, be the ones standing in victory.

11/05/03 Dick Havens Jr. This picture was taken, in 1970 at EWS, when EWS ran on Sunday afternoons. The guys are from left: George Taylor ( car builder and owner),  Dad, Next to Dad is Sam, (sorry Sam, don't know your last name, but he helped out at the shop and the track),  Next is one of George's sons that we called Bottles.  He was the fuel man, and he did a lot of  work on the car at the track, as well as at the shop all week. Here is a quick story, Bottles was always there, we never had to worry about the car running out of fuel. He missed one night, and Dad ran out of fuel that night in the feature, while leading. That is why, each and everyone is a big part of a Championship, not just the driver and owner!!!

Next is Don Hellman, and kneeling in front is George Jr.  There is one guy missing in the photo, that was also on the crew that didn't make it to this race, but was a big part of the crew, and that was Sherwood Talyor, George's Grandson.

Dad is gone, but, I want to Thank the Taylor family, and each and everyone, for being part of some of the best years, in his racing career..    Dick Havens Jr.

11/5/03 Jeff McClung This is a great shot of Dick and the boys, that looks like Billy Osmun on the trailer behind them, and that looks like Craig McCaughey to the left of them.
