Provider's comments: | A little different, I thought this was one of the coolest cars for it's time. So cool in fact that I hacked up a perfectly good 1/64th H.O. car's body to try to make it look just like the #201! Not too many cars back then with the downdraft tubes. |

02/26/04 | Lewstor | Anybody remember this car running at Wall Stadium? (I do) ...remember seeing this car years ago sittin on a trailer in a backyard (Freehold?) |
02/02/05 | J. Stinnett | The crew chief for this team was too young to get into the pits, his name is Ray Evernham (you might have heard of him). Bob loved Hemi power. His son Jimmy is an accomplished engine builder and raced on dirt and asphalt. They run Manalapan Brake Parts on Rte.33 not far from EWS. |
07/05/05 | Steve Weiss | Boy, this really made Pop's day when Larry Reed told us about it being posted! This was actually Ray's first Mod ride. He took it up as a team car with one of Pop's spare big blocks -to Syracuse of all places, on Labor Day weekend. It broke the crank on the back stretch. We narrowed it down to '75 or'76. I still remember going to the state fair that weekend. Thanks for the memories! Steve Weiss |
07/05/05 | 3-Wide | I didn't know about the tie in to Ray Evernham... all I know is that I thought this thing was really different looking than the rest of the cars around that time. And in this case, different was way cool. I'm still not sure what body style it is... looks kind of like a 65 Mustang from the side, but the way the back was cut short really makes it kind of hard to tell... |
07/09/05 | Steve Weiss | Good eye! Many a 64-66 Mustang notchback sacrificed its life to further my father's racing career. The best-looking one was his Tobias car that had inside wings that were just coming into play at that time. |
