I remember Tommie in the 1st turn fence in the 2jr with
the throttle stuck and tires boiling! Believe Don Stives ran across the track
during the red flag to hit the kill switch (he drove the sister car and knew where the
kill switch was!) Also remember him driving the Graff #88 towards the end of his driving
days. |

Notice that Tommie (who gave me my first ever
announcing job at New Egypt) is wearing his All Star Racing League helmet. Also, yes Don
Stives did get the motor to stop on the 2 Jr. that night but, he did it by throwing his
jacket over the injector tubes to cut off the airflow. |
