Comments: Here was a car that had a lot of new ideas incorporated, but at the time, I don't think ever really found the fast way around.  It was a beautiful and let me tell you, you did notice it!  If I recall this early Pete Chesson owned car had a red, white and blue theme to it.  Pete was also the owner of the famous "Barker Bus"  #76 and is the father of PJ and James of World of Outlaw's Sprint Car Fame.

12/18/03 Paul Garzillo Stan looks cool, the car looks cool- the only problem was this ride never did much, but you can bet it wasn't the drivers fault!  There was a period there where Stan jumped in many cars during this time to shake them down, after leaving the Brenn #24.
04/09/04 Bucky Stevens I think that this was the Chesson car which had the "A" frame suspension on it.  Pete Chesson has a very short attention span and sold the car to Bob Pickell who made it his 300.  He won his last feature at Nazareth, (small track) around 1977 in this car.  Nobody else could get it to handle.
09/01/04 John Mc This is not the car that Pickell bought. (Elsewhere in the Vault we refer to a former Chesson #76 that Bob Pickell bought and renumbered #300)  That car was the 1st modified Chesson owned back in 1973. This car was built by Dauernheim and had 4-wheel independent suspension, and it was featured in Hot Rod magazine, I believe in a cut-away view. It never worked and was changed to independent front only. It still was junk and was scrapped after that. C ya, John
09/05/04 John Mc The car that Cozze bought was the Olsen car that I believe is the car in the photo captioned "Pickell looking for a parking spot in the crowded Flem pits". The Chesson car was later run by Bob Jr (I think!). C ya.....

Sandy Rochelle also drove some of Pete's cars.
