Ed Zehner

I googled “Ed Mumford Z8" for there hell of it to see what would come up, if anything. What I found was a short trip down memory lane. This was my childhood. My stepfather Bob Massey and some of his and Eddie’s friends…Joe Stern, Lee Davis and Joe Murray were the pit crew. Every weekend I was lucky enough to go to East Windsor, Grandview, Bridgeport or Reading Fairgrounds. I was about 11-15 during these years. I have some amazing memories of Eddie and what he could do in a race car. Watching him start in the rear of a heat race and come out of turn 2 and down the back stretch to lead into the 3rd turn. He blew the doors off the competition and irritated the s@*t out of them too.

He inspired me so much I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to race myself. I couldn’t hold a candle compared to what I remember watching him do behind the wheel. I don’t know who put these images on the net but thank you for the flash back!!!!
