11.12.10 | Jack Kromer | Cool shot. Looks like Paul Rochelle in the R12 although Charlie Gilmore raced that car also, Chuck Ciprich (sp)# 57 sedan. The white coupe almost looks like the last Cope #1 with Hal Wilson, but I don't know if that car was around this late in the early 70's. |
11.12.10 | Steve Whitney | This has to be from 1973. I thinking that Pinto/Vega/Gremlin bodies were not allowed until 1973. Also, this is before the pits at Nazareth were in the infield. They moved the pits into the infield either late in the '73 season or before the beginning of the '74 season. |
11.19.10 | Bill Katinowsky | I looked at some other photos that I also took on this day.
One of Maynard Forette in the gold #99 I have labeled 1972. It was
most likely later in the season when they ran some Sunday afternoon shows.
Looking at the one tree in the background, I can see it is fall by the colors. I believe the last 2 Nazareth shows that season included Twin 50's (won by Chamberlain and Malzahn) and the final show was a 100 lapper won by Schneider (doing this from memory). If my memory serves me correctly, the photo was from the last race because I had a different camera the week before and broke it so it didn't work. I used the old Brownie that my parents had from the 40's or 50's when I was at the last show. |
