Comment from Joe Friscia: Here is a classic photo of
Corky Cookman in 1976 (I believe) at the Danbury Racearena! The photo was taken by an alert Bob Mannion, Danbury's track photographer. Although Corky was up on two wheels for what seemed an eternity, he never rolled it to my recollection. This was Corky's rookie year at Danbury. Corky later went on to become one of the best chauffeurs in the NASCAR Modified Tour. We all remember what a tragic loss it was when he lost his life at Thompson Speedway. |

Definitely Danbury . The metal flags (pennants) were all over the Fairgrounds. The little buildings were part of the displays. |
