Here's Stan Ploski in the Ken Brenn Sr owned #24 Gremlin with Gerald
Chamberlain in the Joe Bullock owned #76 coupe. We're pretty sure that
this photo was from the 1973 season and if I had to guess, it was probably
toward the later part of the season. After 2 very successful years
with Ken Brenn Sr., (end of '71 to near the end of '73) Stan would leave the
#24 team and would finish the year off (1973) by winning the Flemington 200
behind the wheel of the Pete Chesson owned Pinto #76. While the following season (1974) would prove to be a terrible year for Stan, (flipping the Norcia #81 Mustang down the backstretch at Flemington, winning but also flipping the Emmett Alfrey #47 at Flemington, and then ending the season with a hard crash into the 1st turn fence at Flemington after having the throttle stick on the Jim Horton owned #43 Gremlin....) Gerald would go on to have tremendous success in 1974 driving the Joe Bullock #74 Pinto and Falcon to his first track championship at Flemington. |
