Here's one of Bobby Pickell Jr driving his own #88. Bob tells
us that the car was purchased it as a #06 (?) with this paint scheme,
and he liked the colors of the enough to not want to change it, so he just
took a brush and turned the # into "88". He said the car had a
ton of room in it (real wide inside the cage). Bob admits that his racing career was greatly effected by a lack of funds as his best run came in a sportsman feature at Nazareth where he led most of the race and was still in the top 3 when he got taken out by another competitor. After this car, Bob took one the #300's that his dad had run, hammered out the body (Former Pete Chesson car with the Pinto body) and but a small block in it. Bob is one of those guys that could have accomplished a lot behind the wheel with a few more $'s and a few well timed breaks. |
