Comments: | Comment: Cool looking car that according to Ray Neary and Fred Menschner just never handled very well. In 1970, Ray and Fred teamed up and won some races including the decade opener at Harmony in the silver #21 coupe, but they were not able to follow up the success with this sedan. The following year (I think) Fred went back to the coupe which I believe still was the body from a #39 Piscopo car that Tas ran at Trenton back in the 60's... I'm pretty sure that is when Oliver Butler became the driver. |

Ray and I had a lot of fun building this 36 Chevy sedan
in our Fulton Street garage in Trenton, NJ.. We decided to build this
one with square tubing for roll bars… |

I would imagine that when Harmony Speedway closed, Ray
Neary was probably as distraught about it as Carl Van Horn was. Ray was
pretty much the King of Harmony as he won a lot features there during those
days. |

Joe, I still had the well used coupe we built in 1969/70 that Ray drove and Wally Marks helped us with. Built a new coupe in 1972 out of the parts from that coupe …Used the rear, body and built a new cage, frame, front end and engine…When the car was finished late in the 72 season, Ray drove it in a few races. Then in early 1973, rebuilt this coupe again adding power steering and injectors and started the season with Oliver Bulter. |
