Comments: Comment:  Here's a car driven by Ray Neary that was pretty tricked out from what I remember.  Built by Bill Lowden, the car incorporated some sprint car ideas (check out the way the cowl and windscreen meet up with the driver's compartment), and was built out of chrome moly tubing making it very light.

WOW! The first thing I notice about this fine photo, is the different colored rims. I don’t know why this sticks out to me, but it does. Goes to show you what the owner/driver thought, paint it with whatever color you had. Also you can’t miss the little DA on the roof, early Aero?  Lastly , how can you not love this simple OPEN trailer? Some owners were lucky enough to have haulers or maybe ramp trucks, but who doesn’t miss the lovely open trailers?

01.18.14 3Wide I'm wondering if the red rim might have been a special skinny tire that would allow the car to fit on the trailer and maybe it was painted red so that it would never accidently end up on the car for a race... and then again, maybe I'm thinking too much!  This car was all about being lightweight so I'm guessing he had a lightweight magnesium one up there on the trailer rack for when it was time to hit the track.....  I'll ask Ray about the rims...
