Comments: Comment:  Here's Sammy behind the wheel of the #81 Norcia Pinto... That's right... "Pinto."  There were a couple of coupes... and there was the Mustang.. and then there was this Pinto.  Very strong looking, painted and lettered in the same great style of the earlier coupes... for some reason, this one just never got the love and admiration of earlier efforts and never came close to gaining the attention that the Gremlin's that would follow, with he Black Horse on the 1/4 panel would receive.

Looking at the car now, I'm wondering if maybe the car appeared "too tough"..., maybe a little too high up, or maybe a little too "heavy," especially when you compared it to the somewhat nimbler cars of the day that seemed to be gaining popularity... and gaining feature event wins like the Bullock #76 Falcon, the Ken Brenn King car and the little #23 that Glenn Fitzcharles drove around this time...

It may have taken a few decades to be appreciated, but looking at it today, that's one cool modified, and when it came to drivers, Sammy was one of the best ever at Flemington!

This was an off the rack Tobias chassis that was originally under the Mustang.  I think it may have been lacking aerodynamically, but Sammy could always muscle a car around.  It was probably most known for an epic Friday night win over Glen Fitz in the 23.
