Comments: Comment:  Awesome looking racecar.  The photo is marked as being developed in October 1972 which based on the way the folks are dressed, it looks like this was taken possibly sometime during the summer of '72.  With Stan Ploski vacating the ride after the points battles were over at the end of the 1971 season, I'm not sure who would have been driving the Big Donkey on this night.  It's possible that it didn't have a steady driver assigned to the car.

Check out the Ford "Cammer " engine in the 707.  Wish we had one of those  today...

Shotgun motor under the hood so it can't be 71 when the SOHC motors were in the engine bay of "The Big Donkey" would have to say its early in the season of 1972 when "Sammy" was wheeling the 707. As I recalled Paul had several piston pin failures in the 429 which resulting in Sammy driving other cars during the season. John Mick - Matawan NJ

Sammy Beavers did start the season in the 707.  Not sure when he left but I am pretty sure he didn’t make the full season.  Somewhere in the “70’s” section is a photo of Sammy in the 707 from the season opener at Reading.
