Comments: | Comment: Here's a car that you might not be that familiar with... I think it only ran a year or two... and I think one of those years it was blue (?).... But even though it had a relatively low shelf life, it permanently has a place in my memory files as being a really cool, really unique looking racecar, that on the track, looked really badazz. The back of the body hiked up high, the upswept headers, and the driver sitting far back in the cockpit. I'm not sure where Gar Frey was from and/or who built the car, but it was cars like this that exemplified the originality, the creativity and the personality of dirt track stock car racing in the 70's. |

Gar Frey was from Asbury ,N.J. Pretty sere he built this car himself, he was very innovative. I believe this car was ford powered. |

Yes that was a Boss 302 Ford. What is very unusual is that you will notice the Autolite In Line 4 barrel carb, sticking through the hood. The motors in this car came out of Ron Clark's shop in Easton, Pa. This picture is probably from '73 or '74 as Gar ran against George Ault who I was helping at the time. |
