Comments: Comment:  There weren't a lot of Valiant's to be found on the load dirt tracks, but this one, eventually painted blue with the #69 on the side, became one of the coolest in town.  I'm not totally sure, but I think there might have been two different Valiant's driven by Don (not sure) but one of them was sold to Fred Orchard who started his rookie season (white #406) around 1976 or so at Flemington Speedway.

10.01.14 Brian C. Loutrel This was Kreitz's first Valiant, and it debuted in 1973.  It was the one sold to Fred Orchard Jr., who first used the car in 1976.  Orchard took a nasty flip in this car between the first and second turns at Flemington.  Kreitz's second Valiant debuted in 1974.  I saw it run at opening day at Flemington.  Like its predecessor, another cool car.  Note Kreitz's coach in the background of the photo - another cool car.

I had walked over and was sitting a few rows up between one & two watching the Rookie feature and the #406 almost landed in my lap.

I loved Donnie's sedan, always had a "Thing" for the old coach's. When he first brought this Valiant out, I can't say I cared for it. Al Tasnady also debuted the #K-46, and Glenn Fitchcharles brought out the #56 which were either Valiant's or Dodge Lancers, (Same thing). So as time went by they kind of grew on you as more and more of the late models came to be, you just had to accept them. This version of Donnie's was probably the fastest of  the three, once he got the bugs worked out. I still miss his sedan!
