Comments: Comment from Steve:  This is the car I ran in the rookie division in 1975. I was still in High School at the time but I really wanted to get into racing so I (my parents) bought this car in 1974 (cannot remember from who) and I ran rookies in 1975. There is another photo of this car in The Vault: https://3widespicturevault.com/Forever_Young_PICS_&_VITALS/M07.16.16_073_UNK_FLM_0075RY_1.htm

That picture might be the night I started on the pole with Billy Pauch on my outside. He proceeded to blow my doors off and I ended up blowing up my transmission!  Did not matter to me though as I was having fun and learning a lot about racing and the cars. Later, on I hitched up with Bobby Malzahn at Newton Speed Center in Sussex NJ - building cars/pitting for him and rebuilt one of his old 99's pictured in The Vault on page 63 (Car #21):

I have attached a really bad pic of me (but the car looks good!) sitting on the car just before my HS graduation along with a couple of others. I went to college a few years later for mechanical engineering and had to give up racing. If I knew vintage was going to be popular, I would have kept one of my cars - I really miss the aforementioned 21!

The bottom picture is of the #73 on the trailer in the summer of 1975 next to where we were digging the foundation of the house I still live in.

I am 59 now and when my kids get out of college in a couple of years, maybe, well just maybe ....I could get a vintage car to play with???:)

I did not accomplish much in racing but I learned, made friends, had a lot of fun and have great memories, which is all anyone could ask for - as long as your not racing to pay the bills!
