Comments: Comment:  Al, in what would end up being the last year for the Gremlin modified.  Car was dark blue in 1975, light blue in '76, and a little shorter and painted white with black #'s as you see above for the 1977 season.  Al started the season off strong with a modified heat race in front of a packed house at East Windsor (April 1977) under the then promoter, Ken Brenn Sr.  They ran a special match race that day with Al, and other heat winners Ken Brenn Jr, and Ken Johnson.  Pretty sure that Kenny won it, but it was pretty cool seeing Al out there in his 3 year old homebuilt racer, alongside the Grant King #24 and the always sharp black #64 of Ken Johnson.  The feature event was won that day by Kenny Brightbill.

Pretty sure the frame was provided through Mike Kostic, and all the rest was 100% Al.   Al was always up on the wheel, and even in this picture, you can see he's leaning forward, and has his elbows up!
