Comments: | Comment: Don Taylor in a #51M sportsman. Don was the brother of Lee and Larry Taylor. Interesting picture as in the top photo, I never remember the pits that empty so not sure if this was a regular show or not. Also, wondering if this was an early Michael Brothers effort as the #51M number continues on today (2023) with driver Wade Hendrickson behind the wheel at New Egypt. This was a strange time for race teams as stock bodies (actual Gremlins, Mustangs, Pintos, etc.,) were being replaced with a lot of home made stuff... The question at the time though seemed to be go big...or go small? There were quite a few small bodied cars right around this time, but they would grow wider... and longer... and even taller as we got into the 80's and beyond. |
