Comments: Comment:  We're not sure if that's Buzzie in the #00, or if this is after Buzzie sold his car to Bobby Thomas, who then put Jim Hoffman behind the wheel.  Pretty sure that's Jackie Hamilton in the white #6 coupe.

03.16.24 Bob Becker

I don't think that is the Bobby Thomas car that was driven by Jim Hoffman.  I believe Bobby bought the car at the end of the 1969 season.  In 1969 Dover Brake had not appeared on the 00, it still said in script "Reutimann Chevrolet" on the door.

I know Danny Mitchell bought the 1970 Buzzie Middletown car and it had Reutimann in a Chevy bow tie and Dover Brake on the hood side panels.  The next year Danny bought the 1971 Buzzie's Reading car with the huge engine setback, that was the first year Dover Brake was on the 00"s doors.

The car in the photo is 1972 or later.  Was there another 00 racing that day and Buzzie had to add the 1, or is somebody else in the car?  Is there a way to send the photo to Buzzie and ask him?
