10.13.13 | 3Wide | Bob down plays his role in the sport from back in the day, but he has my respect as being a good, solid competitor. The Modified division... at Flemington Speedway.. in the mid 70's.... had to be one of the toughest division, at one of the toughest tracks... during the days of big fields of modified cars and stars where just making the feature event was an accomplishment, and something that forever earns folks like Bob Turlip, Al Michalchuk, Bob Nixon, Jules Sustek, Dick Wean, Billy Beasley, and all the others that may not have gone home with the big trophies, could ALWAYS hold their head high knowing that they had our respect. |
